Distech Controls automates public lighting in 550 municipalities in Aisne

Distech Controls, an expert in the field of connected solutions for building management, is diversifying its portfolio of references with the USEDAROC project. This is an application developed by USEDA (Union of Energy Sectors of the Aisne Department), which allows mayors to remotely manage public lighting in their municipality.

A major project, which includes the installation of 3.800 ECLYPSE controllers in 550 municipalities.

Through this project, USEDA combines its historical profession with new technologies to facilitate the daily lives of municipalities by providing them with simple and economical management tools, in a complex energy context. This is done with the USEDAROC application (USEDA Connected Object Networks): a web platform for remote management of public lighting.

The use of public lighting varies according to periods and needs. In addition, it is sometimes necessary for it to be on all night, particularly during community events. “Benefiting from this service with current connected solutions facilitates programmed management from a computer, a tablet or my smartphone. I have the possibility of programming public lighting in my municipality on specific dates but also at any time and from anywhere in case of exceptional need. » assures Jean-Paul Coffinet – Mayor of Beaurieux (Aisne).

ECLYPSE controller: a thoughtful choice

In consultation with the integrator Dumortier, USEDA chose the Distech Controls solution to meet its specifications. This choice was motivated by Distech Controls' multi-protocol hardware (BACnet, Modbus, API, etc.), which allows great flexibility. Developed to be sustainable and scalable, the Distech Controls solution is recognized for its openness. As part of the USEDAROC project, ECLYPSE controllers communicate directly with the energy meter, for guaranteed time savings and reliability.

Beyond control, the USEDAROC platform provides visibility into energy consumption, notably through an energy savings simulator, an EcoWatt alert and an interactive plan. In terms of security, the user has the possibility to report an incident directly from the USEDAROC application and to set up emergency functionalities.

As part of this project, the main module developed concerns the remote management of public lighting. Other modules linked to energy consumption have been deployed such as heating, water level monitoring, waste bins, remote monitoring and billing monitoring.

On the integrator side, satisfaction is also there: “As a VSE, we are satisfied with the support of Distech Controls within the framework of this project whether on the technical part, the commercial support or the logistics .
