The brand is thus responding to growing demand from its carpenter customers who wish to promote local consumption. It also anticipates possible shortages by guaranteeing the availability of a product designed entirely in France.
An ethical and responsible commitment
Dispano has always favored the use of wood from sustainably managed forests and has had its entire chain of control certified by the certifying body Bureau Veritas. For non-certified wood, which appears for a minimal part in its catalog, the brand also imposes strong requirements. Woods are refused by its specialists when it is impossible to obtain proof of their legality. This approach is part of the FLEGT (Forest Low Enforcement Governance and Trade[1]) action plan. Dispano therefore holds dual FSC® and PEFC™ certification.
With this 100% French wood range, Dispano takes a step further in its commitments.
A 100% French wood range for perfect traceability
The range of laminated beams offered by Dispano comes from Jura forests, PEFC certified (Programme for the recognition of forest certifications). The beams are assembled in a French factory. This is fir-spruce, involved in the composition of a large number of products. The 100% French wood range distributed today by Dispano is used for structural timber as well as for timber frame houses, in an interior setting only since the wood is not treated.
The brand has 6 references of beams of different sizes, available in the 40 Dispano agencies within ten days.
With this range, Dispano benefits from a total vision of product traceability and of the entire production chain, from the forest to the finished product. The brand can thus guarantee its customers the availability of products and commit to reliable deadlines, thus avoiding any risk of work interruptions. It also responds to a real underlying trend which tends to favor more and more local products whose production is perfectly controlled.
[1] Forest law enforcement, governance and trade. FLEGT aims to:
- In timber-producing countries: control the exploitation of forests to combat illegality by setting up Voluntary Partnership Agreements (VPAs) between producing countries and EU countries.
- In EU countries: eliminate the trade in illegal timber thanks to the EUTR (European Union Timber Regulation) which sets out the obligations for operators who place timber and derived products on the European market. It has applied since 3 March 2013.
