Trends observed at the Mondial du Bâtiment Innovation Awards
After analyzing all the offers proposed at the Innovation Awards, the overwhelmingly dominant trend is the decarbonization effort. It is materialized in four sub-tendencies:
- the electrification of uses,
- the use of biosourced materials or made from recycled materials,
- increasing energy efficiency to reduce energy consumption,
- products and systems designed to facilitate their reuse.
1 - The electrification of uses is found everywhere: development of heat pumps for heating and the production of domestic hot water (Zé7 to R290 from INTUIS, triple service heat pump on extracted air NIBE S735, air-water heat pump Amzeo WT indoor monobloc from AIRWELL, new collective R290 air/water heat pumps, such as the Aquarea T-CAP Series M heat pump from PANASONIC, more and more solutions for installing photovoltaic panels (Luxiol Zinc from CREAWATT FABRICK, Ultraçade from ULTRAWATT) on buildings, electric traction construction equipment (TPX1800E tracked forklift from HINOWA SpA), high-power battery-powered tools (350 MM concrete cutter MILWAUKEE TOOLS France), large capacity electricity storage and portable for construction sites, ... The electrification of uses is also linked to the development of Renewable Energies (ENR), notably illustrated by DUALSUN with its new hybrid sensor – photovoltaic and thermal at the same time – Spring4 425 TOPCon with fins, for example COLORBLAST, a printable photovoltaic panel from GLASS PARTNERS SOLUTIONS. The electrification of uses even affects sanitary appliances: we no longer flush the toilet, we no longer open the tap, but we touch a sensitive button which triggers an electric motor which activates the flow (Presto Linea Touch from PRESTO, Siamp Click to flush from SIAMP, Cox Open Click basin mixer from PAINI). Other examples of electrification in the bathroom: the Campaver Bains electric towel radiator from CAMPA (INTUIS GROUP), or the shower screen with integrated LEDs from AIDAL. Finally, INSTAGRID's Instagrid One, classified under Construction Tech®, is an electrical power station that replaces generators up to 5 KVA.
2 - As with the electrification of uses, all sectors are embarking on the use of biosourced and/or reuse materials. In bathrooms, for example, for its Jouvence vanity unit, DECOTEC uses bio-sourced materials. In interior decoration, recycling is very present with the Block Art panel from GEPLAST, the Refab floor boards from ARTEPY made from recycled plastic, Piano the acoustic panel from HOME INTERNATIONAL, made from recycled plastic bottles, etc. Biosourced or geosourced materials are found in MClay from MICROCRETE, a clay-based wall covering, Stonepanel from CUPA PIERRES DISTRIBUTION, an exterior natural stone wall panel. In structural work and finishing, biosourced insulation reigns: BIOFIB ISOLATION offers its Biofib' Hemp; Lanaé, the new glass wool from SAINT-GOBAIN ISOVER, is made in France from 50% recycled glass and a biosourced binder; Style de SEMIN is a blow-in insulation made from recycled textile fibers. In terms of structural work, ALPHI's TopDalle Eco+ horizontal formwork system is made from 75% recycled aluminum.
3 – Increasing energy efficiency to reduce energy consumption is also found in many sectors. To begin with, with regard to joinery and closures, the power supply of electric motors by photovoltaic cells installed outside is increasing and tends to become the standard solution in renovation: Solozip Solar from GRIESSER, Topfix Solar from RENSON VENTILATION SA , RS100 Solar io from SOMFY. In HVAC, the seasonal efficiency of heat pumps increases from year to year, but this time, GREE PRODUCTS France (multisplit Free-Match ATW Marina) and MIDEA (multisplit Midea CirQ HP) are introducing something new on domestic models : the recovery of heat extracted in cooling mode to produce free Domestic Hot Water when the device is operating in cooling mode. In the Off-Site area, BIOMESPACE pushes the logic of energy efficiency to its limits and offers modular housing that is autonomous in water and energy, without connection to networks. In structural work, Thermosteel from PERFISA SA, a profile designed for light steel construction, limits heat loss thanks to slots calculated to increase the flow of heat towards the coldest environment. R'Booster from AIR BOOSTER reinterprets the parieto-dynamic effect to achieve up to 83% reduction in heating consumption.
4 - Products and systems designed to facilitate their reuse. Reuse is encouraged from the design of products. For example, NPS Flex® from TECNOSTRUTTURE SRL, classified under Construction Tech®, is a complete steel-concrete composite solution, designed to be dismantled and reused.
Second global trend, the effort to improve working conditions and protection against construction site dangers, which at the same time increases productivity.
This trend, naturally, is found above all in Construction Equipment and Tools, in particular thanks to the Liftroller Wall from LIFTROLLER AS, the exoskeleton presented by FESTOOL (Construction Tech), Top'Up from SGB HÜNNEBECK, a solution for mechanization of its Topec horizontal formwork system, with “Klemmband AT” hinges from DR. HAHN GmbH & Co. KG (Jointwork and Closures), Rapido shower frame from GROHE (Bathrooms), a frame for built-in shower, Isol-Arc from LAYHER which protects against the consequences of an electric arc on scaffolding, etc. . Placo® Plume 13, the lightweight plasterboard from SAINT-GOBAIN PLACOPLATRE, weighs up to 6 kilos less (i.e. a reduction of around 20%) than the Placoplatre® BA 13 board. It is intended for the construction markets only. individual house and the private parts of collective housing. It offers performances guaranteed by the Technical Experimentation Approval (ATEx) n°3193_V1. Most workplace improvement solutions simplify tasks and increase productivity at the same time.
Finally, third trend, linked to the second, the development of digital technology. Digital technology crosses all product categories and is embodied in sales support tools, calculation and simulation solutions, site and supply management, and, increasingly, management solutions. Help with repetitive administrative tasks. Simulation software includes Spark Digital Showroom (Bathrooms), Epicor CPQ from ITCELERATOR (sales support using 3D simulation), Envelop3D IA 2024 from PROCAL which designs and optimizes facades with cladding.
BOBY is certainly the most astonishing administrative assistance software offered this year: multilingual, we talk to it and it produces quotes. Report by Extrabat from EXTRABAT is a database which carries out analyzes and reporting under the supervision of the site manager. GME 3 Clics from CAPEB is a secure application to allow building craftsmen to group together without solidarity, and continue to access building markets whose developments require grouped offers (energy renovation, accessibility, new construction, etc.). The testo 565i connected vacuum pump from TESTO is used with other products in the range (pressure gauge, connected scale, automatic valve, vacuum gauge, etc.) to automate the refrigerant handling process. In structural work, the GEPO Calculator (Optimized Plot Rainwater Management), offered by ECOVEGETAL, simulates different solutions proposed by ECOVEGETAL to achieve the smallest possible rainwater discharge.
