DALI luminaires now integrate the smart home with Homematic IP

As a widely used standard, DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) enjoys great popularity in the field of lighting control and ensures, among other things, a perfect flicker-free dimming experience. Now DALI-controlled luminaires can be easily integrated into the Homematic IP smart home. The DALI Gateway enables easy switching and dimming of up to 32 DALI luminaires. DALI luminaires are simply assigned to gateway channels and organized into up to 16 lighting groups.

The Homematic IP DALI gateway is simply installed on the DIN rail and can be easily retrofitted into existing systems. The gateway's large illuminated LC display allows installers to control and test DALI lamps directly after connecting them to the network, without having to program them. The gateway is compatible with many DALI lights:

• Fluorescent tubes (DT0)
• Discharge lamps (DT2)
• Low voltage halogen bulbs (DT3)
• Dimmers for incandescent bulbs (DT4)
• DC conversion (0-10V, DT5)
• LED modules (DT6)
• Switch function (DT7)
• Color and color temperature control (DT8)

Control the light according to your needs

Integration into the Homematic IP system gives users a wide range of options to configure their lighting according to their personal preferences and needs. In the free Homematic IP app, for example, they can create time profiles in just a few steps to switch the lighting on or off at specific times. Demand-based automation is even more convenient when paired with Homematic IP occupancy or motion sensors, so light is only on when it's really needed. By defining individual switch groups, the desired lighting can be conveniently activated at the touch of a button or a voice command.

The DALI gateway from Homematic IP supports the "dynamic daylight" and "Dim2Warm" functions already known from the Homematic IP LED Controller – RGBW. "Dynamic daylight" automatically adapts the lighting to daylight and thus to the human biorhythm. By providing energizing cold light during the day and soothing warm light in the evening, the function helps to master everyday life in a more efficient and relaxed way. The “Dim2Warm” setting provides comfort by mimicking the dimming behavior of conventional light bulbs: the darker the lighting, the warmer the color of the light.
