Creation of the Castorama Foundation to strengthen the brand's fight against poor housing

Castorama announces the creation of the Castorama Foundation, the ambition of which is to make the improvement of the house and access to housing accessible to the most disadvantaged. Continuing the long-standing commitment of the brand, the Castorama Foundation will notably support various associative projects to fight against poor housing. This year, a budget of 190.000 euros will support around fifteen projects.

Created in January 2021 and housed by the Fondation de France, the Castorama Foundation wishes to support the most disadvantaged in their efforts to access housing and in carrying out renovation work on their homes. Its action is based on two pillars: support for associative projects to fight against poor housing and the transmission of know-how to vulnerable groups. Present both nationally and regionally, the Castorama Foundation is in line with the strong local commitment of the brand's stores.

This year, the project supported by the Castorama Foundation on a national scale is that of Bricobus, led by Les Compagnons Bâtisseurs: 60 euros will be paid to the association to develop this solidarity initiative which allows, throughout France, to go out to meet poor people facing problems of poor housing. The members of the association support them in carrying out their work and provide various advice, while offering them free DIY lessons. The Bricobus is also a vector of social bond, fighting against the isolation that can be encountered in rural areas.

The Castorama Foundation also acts at the local level: it supports 13 projects throughout France. The beneficiary associations were selected through a vote of employees organized in all of the brand's stores. The Castorama Foundation will provide each winning association with aid of 10 euros, ie a total of 000 donated to local projects.
