This new organization aims to promote the various materials used in end-of-life joinery (wood, PVC, aluminum and glass) and their reuse for the manufacture of new solutions (windows, doors and shutters).
Still considered waste, end-of-life joinery is generally buried in quarries today, even though it represents an important source of new raw materials and carbon savings. Stop this burial, such is the credo of MENREC.
“The joinery offered by ATLANTEM INDUSTRIES and FENÉTRÉA has a lifespan of 30 years, certified in the Environmental and Health Declaration Sheets (FDES) of the products. Our companies having marketed their first products about 27 years ago, it seemed obvious to us to anticipate the first deconstruction projects. Our approach also responds to the next increase in renovation projects expected following the announcement of the France Relance Plan. The opportunity to affirm our respective commitments to stop the burying of end-of-life joinery. ", agree in unison Dominique LAMBALLE, President of FENÉTRÉA, and Bruno CADUDAL, Managing Director of ATLANTEM INDUSTRIES.
A collaborative approach
In order to create a solid and dynamic structure, ATLANTEM INDUSTRIES and FENÉTRÉA have integrated two other family businesses with complementary skills: RIOU GLASS, independent French leader in glazing, and the BOHELAY GROUP, a transport company specializing in recycling logistics. Created last December 4 and chaired by Adrien BOHELAY, MENREC is an independent SAS owned equally by the four co-founders. The head office and the dismantling unit are located in Saint-Allouestre, in Morbihan (56). A central geographic location for collection in the Great West. The activity will begin on March 1, 2021. MENREC aims to promote the development of solidarity employment. The organization plans to recruit ten employees by the end of 2021.
A responsible turnkey system for installers
MENREC provides the installer in the West of France with a turnkey solution for the collection and dismantling of end-of-life joinery, at no additional cost compared to the current situation. He will be issued a certificate proving that the replaced joinery fits into a circular economy system. Promoting its responsible commitment to its customers.
The organization provides installers (craftsmen, carpenters, networks of window workers, etc.), a rack or tipper specifically created by MENREC. When the container is full, the professional informs MENREC via the site www.menrec.fr. The process is simplified: no upstream sorting, a saving of time! A flatbed truck with an on-board trolley makes a round to collect the racks and skips.
The waste is:
- transported to the dismantling unit which separates PVC, aluminum, wood and glazing,
- stored on a 1.000 m2 platform, dismantled and then sent to specialized recycling centers,
- reintroduced into new manufacturing processes of ATLANTEM INDUSTRIES, FENÉTREA and RIOU GLASS.
