Covid-19: Élisabeth Borne salutes the efforts of the nuclear industry

The nuclear industry strategic committee met around Elisabeth Borne to present the measures implemented to respond to the problems encountered by industry players - operators, contractors, subcontractors - during this period of health crisis. The aim was to ensure the mobilization of all the nuclear trades necessary for the continuity of the electricity supply and the proper application of the health protection measures for employees.

The sector presented the specific measures implemented which ensure the energy supply of the country, and in particular the welcomed adoption of a charter of good practices in times of health crisis, reflecting the commitments made by major donors towards their employees and subcontractors.

The Minister insisted on this occasion on the importance of good coordination of nuclear reactor shutdowns in the weeks and months to come for maintenance work and refueling, in order to maximize the availability of the production fleet during the winter . The sector will have to ensure the mobilization of each actor to relaunch these projects as soon as possible to meet this objective.

Finally, the sector presented its proposals with a view to quickly regaining sustainable growth within companies in the sector, mainly made up of small and medium-sized companies. Several of these measures are already the subject of work with the State, in the context in particular of the Multi-year Energy Programming, published on April 23, 2020, or the National Plan for the Management of Hazardous Materials and Waste.
