A multi-use complex
In 2015, SNCF launched a program to replace several aging training centers that no longer meet current needs spread across the country with three new campuses located in the metropolitan areas of Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux. On a surface of 12.900 m², the development of the Lyon campus consists of constructing three buildings for different uses: industrial, tertiary, accommodation and catering. There are theoretical training areas, a workshop for practical training, administrative premises, accommodation (273 rooms) and catering premises, an event space that can accommodate up to 200 people as well as a digital showroom of 100 m². A car park with 80 parking spaces as well as landscaping complete the package.
Reduce the carbon footprint of buildings
From the design phase, SNCF Réseau has placed environmental performance at the heart of the project, aiming for HQE certification for buildings. To meet this ambition, Eiffage Construction, in charge of the works, called on CEMEX to supply Vertua® concrete, a range of low-carbon concrete that has been tried and tested for several years. Here, for the foundations, walls and floors of buildings, Vertua® classic concrete was chosen, which reduced the carbon footprint by 20 to 35%. The formulation of concrete designed from local raw materials and co-products from industrial processes has been validated by the Inddigo design office specializing in sustainable development. The first pourings started last September and should be completed in spring 2021, at the end of the structural work. In total, 6.500 m³ of Vertua® classic will have been delivered from the CEMEX production units in Lyon Herriot, Mions and Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu
Facilitate the work of construction teams
Seduced by the presentation of CEMEX Go, a 100% digital solution specializing in the management of materials orders from A to Z and the monitoring of deliveries in real time, the Eiffage Construction teams have chosen to pass and monitor the '' all of their concrete orders using this platform created by CEMEX in 2018 to support the development of the construction sector. Eiffage Construction was thus able to equip its site with a new element of environmental and safety performance, for example by avoiding the printing, transfer and handling of paper documents. Not to mention the time savings and efficiency generated, a real plus for the construction major.
