With its new building for surgical and anesthesia consultations, the HNO wishes to secure and simplify the circuit for the many people consulting in anesthesia and surgery.
Now installed in the Duquesne building (1982), outpatient clinics are dispersed in premises that have become cramped with the development of activity in recent years.
An uncomfortable situation for both patients and professionals which becomes problematic during a pandemic. Physical distancing measures are difficult to set up in too narrow spaces, the premises do not allow forward walking circuits and the interweaving of consultation spaces and hospitalization spaces greatly limits the possibilities of differentiation of flows. .
The construction of a new building: A response to the need for safety and fluidity
Along the western end of the main hospital building, the Duquesne, this new construction allows better management of visitor flows and responds to current health concerns. Direct access will allow patients to go for consultations without going through the heart of the hospital. With a separate entry and exit, forward movement will be favored. Contact between incoming and outgoing patients will be avoided, thus limiting the risk of viral contamination.
The modular architecture of this building: Fast, clean and made in France
Supported in less than a year by the consortium bringing together Bouygues Bâtiments Sud Est, agent, Ossabois, CRR Ecritures Architecturales and TEM Partners, this mixed construction project is made up of concrete foundations, stairwells, elevators and radiology unit, as well as around 200 wooden modules. This set forms a 4-storey building with more than 5.000 m² of surface area.
This is exemplary work, both on the speed of decision-making by the stakeholders and on the construction method chosen: mixed wood-concrete construction. With their experience in this area in the context of the construction of accommodation buildings for the Ministry of the Armed Forces and a college for the Lyon Metropolis, the Engineering and Works teams of Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est are building this healthcare building in a record time of 9 months of work. This performance is made possible thanks to the choice of off-site construction and optimal management of partner companies providing additional services (facades, roofs, finishes of “open” modules, VRD / parking).
Each wood module was manufactured in the OSSABOIS factories, one of whose sites is located in Balbigny in the Loire. They were equipped with a plumbing, electricity and heating system to then be assembled and mounted on concrete foundations.
OSSABOIS is today the French leader in the off-site construction of wooden buildings, designing tailor-made elements for each construction in its 3 factories in France, then transporting and assembling them on site. With cost control and a reduction of up to 60% in construction times, the modular architecture also allows a considerable reduction in pollution on the site and the environment with, in particular, dry sites, without pollution of dust and water. dirty water but also a short circuit of materials and production.
The works: Next steps and delivery
With work starting in December 2020 and delivery scheduled for September 2021, the consultation building should receive its first patients in November 2021. The installation of the overhead walkway, connecting this new building to the Duquesne building, was finalized overnight. from June 22 to 23. Installed in 4 sections, it measures 39 m in length and will facilitate the passage of health professionals from one building to another.
