The photovoltaic cell production plant should come into service in 2025 and have a capacity of five gigawatts in the long term, specifies the weekly.

The announcement must be made official on Monday during the "Choose France" summit during which the French president brings together heads of foreign companies at the Palace of Versailles in order to attract foreign investment.
Last year, the investments announced on this occasion represented 10,8 billion euros.

Ahead of this summit, the Taiwanese group ProLogium announced that it was going to set up an electric battery factory in Dunkirk (North), for an investment of 5,2 billion euros and the expected creation of 3.000 direct jobs.
The Chinese XTC and the French Orano will invest 1,5 billion euros and create 1.700 jobs in a site linked to lithium batteries, still in Dunkirk.
The photovoltaic cell production project in Sarreguemines comes a few months after the abandonment of a similar project at the same location by the Norwegian company Rec Solar.
This provided for an investment of 681 million euros and the creation of 1.500 jobs.
