A successful bet for URSA which, thanks to the involvement of nearly 3.900 participants (installers, traders, GSB and individuals), will soon plant 5.500 trees in the Landes forest.
Why this “URSA Shield for the Planet” operation?
Echoing the tariff shield launched by the public authorities to deal with the energy crisis, URSA recently launched the “URSA Shield for the Planet” operation. The objective was in particular to remind that the insulation of buildings, and more particularly glass mineral wool, constitutes one of the best shields for reducing energy consumption.
The advantages and benefits of this type of insulation are also (re)presented in the practical guide "Mineral glass wool: the guide to the benefits of insulation", published by URSA on the occasion of the launch of this new operation.
For this year and with its 1er success in 2022 "Double blow for the Planet" which made it possible to plant more than 5 trees in the Chantilly forest (350), URSA has chosen to once again commit to the cause of trees. The specialist in glass mineral wool and XPS (extruded polystyrene) insulation wanted to support the reforestation of the Landes, the largest artificial forest in Western Europe, destroyed by fires during the summer of 60.
« With all the URSA France teams, we are particularly proud to have mobilized so many good and willing people in this adventure. The 5 trees will soon be planted in the Landes forest in order to contribute, on our scale, to the protection of the environment. This operation, associated with the publication of our URSA guide, also made it possible to emphasize the importance of insulation, whatever the type of building: beyond the benefits acquired in terms of living comfort, insulation is now one of the best shields for an effective reduction in energy consumption. Our URSA products are precisely thought out, designed and installed with this in mind. » Jean-Pierre Laherre, Managing Director URSA France
Simple mechanics...
Between February 15 and April 15, 2023, URSA invited professionals (traders, GSB, installers, and manufacturers) and, for the first time, individuals, to participate in “URSA Shield for the Planet”:
- Participants could try to win prizes by downloading the guide "Mineral glass wool: the guide to the benefits of insulation" or by sharing the operation on Linkedin or Facebook
- Professionals (traders, GSB, installers and manufacturers) were invited to send a photo of a scenario on their construction site or at their point of sale and to take part in a quiz
- Individuals had to reconstruct an image of the URSA "POL" mascot via a fun game.
All of these actions also led to the planting of one or more trees in the Landes forest.
To make professionals aware of the effects of global warming, URSA has put into play places for an immersion in the Jura forest organized by the Human Adaptation Institute, founded by the explorer Christian Clot, to live a unique nature experience, better understand the current climatic upheavals and develop their adaptive capacities. This expedition will be organized from July 5 to 7, 2023.
… for a more than positive balance sheet
A few days after the end of its "URSA Shield for the Planet" operation, URSA salutes the commitment of professionals and the general public and draws up a positive assessment:
- 3.874 people (682 traders; 292 GSB; 193 installers and 2.707 individuals) took part, mainly by playing the fun game (open to the general public only) and taking part in the quiz. The guide "Glass mineral wool: the guide to the benefits of insulation" also aroused great interest from participants, professionals and individuals alike.
- 5.500 trees will be able to be planted in the Landes forest by the end of the year
