The vehicles - bulldozers, wheel loaders and backhoes - will be used by CEMEX's materials business in several countries, including France, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and the UK. In France, the first series of machines has already been delivered to Nîmes (30), Brébières (62) and the Toulouse region:
- 2 1650M bulldozers
- 2 580ST backhoe loaders
- 1 x 1121G wheel loader
- 2 wheel loaders 521G
Other machines will be delivered in the coming weeks in the other countries concerned.
Low carbon equipment
These machines being lighter compared to those on the market, they use less fuel to move and therefore emit less CO2. Since the engine is mounted at the rear of the machine, it is not necessary to install a very heavy counterweight to balance the load at the front of the machine.
In addition, CASE is part of the FIAT Automobiles group and manufactures its own engines, which are more fuel efficient and clean burning. Thanks to these new types of engines, the size of the filters used to remove particles from the exhaust gases is reduced, which makes it possible to limit energy consumption.
“As a global leader in the building materials industry, we are committed to leading the sector towards a lower carbon economy. We examine every area of our business to maximize our effectiveness in terms of climate action. Our fleet of industrial vehicles is a key element in this area, which is why we are very satisfied with this contract with CASE. This partnership brings a significant environmental benefit to our European operations: the vehicles we have selected incorporate advanced technology and reduced fuel consumption thanks to an improved power-to-weight ratio. This encourages us to continue our collaboration with CASE to explore further opportunities to improve the sustainability of our operations,” says Craig Hooper, Mobile Equipment Fleet Manager for CEMEX Europe.
“CEMEX is a global group with a strong commitment to sustainability and climate action, through the solutions it provides and the optimization of its operations. We are pleased that this building materials industry leader has chosen us to support them in their current and future endeavours,”, says Andrea Rapali, Key Account Director Europe at CASE.
