CAPEB offers a sustainable house to the Habitat and Humanism association

It is clear that this link is lasting. And above all, this will provide an additional roof for a family living in precarious conditions. »

A house built in two and a half days

Over the two days that the Worldskills competitions lasted, the young visitors accompanied by building craftsmen representing the 8 trade families of CAPEB succeeded in the crazy challenge of building a small sustainable house with their own hands in just two and a half days. . The objective was to demonstrate to young visitors that the building trade has assets and values ​​which are very close to theirs through an activity which allowed them to measure themselves very concretely with the reality of these professions. by interacting with professionals. This house was built entirely from sustainable materials, supplied by Saint-Gobain and its subsidiaries, Isover, Placo®, Weber, Chryso, POINT.P, Cedeo and benefited from the support of Loxam, Berner and Wurth. The operation was crowned with great success given the enthusiasm shown by the many young people who tried it.

A lasting gesture of solidarity

Because the entire operation consisted of raising awareness among young visitors about the notion of sustainability which is at the heart of the building trades, CAPEB has chosen to offer this sustainable house to the “Habitat et Humanisme” association. so that it can be reused and respond to the exclusion and isolation of people in difficulty, and to act in favor of housing, integration and the recreation of social links.
