Designed and manufactured with the know-how and expertise of BWT France, this pressure reducer reduces water consumption, provides protection for equipment and a barrier against impurities. Another way to sustainably preserve our resources.
Why reduce the water pressure?
Excessive city water pressure has damaging effects that are often overlooked.
Firstly, unnecessary overconsumption of water, since it is estimated that 1 bar of excess pressure generates 20% additional water consumption. For a typical family of 4 people this represents approximately 120 € per year*.
Too much pressure also harms the entire residential circuit for the distribution of domestic water - pipes, boiler, sanitary facilities, taps and appliances that consume water - and can lead to premature wear of this equipment.
Finally, excessive pressure can generate “water hammer” sounds that are very harmful to the plumbing (leaks, deformation of pipes, breaks, wear of seals, etc.).
The solution to deal with all these problems: the installation of a pressure reducer to reduce the water pressure to the desired value and the right value necessary.
*For an average consumption of 150 m3/year at an average price of €4 per m3
The BWT D1 pressure reducer: a new protective barrier
Designer, manufacturer and integrator of water treatment solutions, BWT France is a leader in its field and masters the entire household water treatment chain. By adding a pressure reducer to its range, BWT is offering a new simple and effective solution for quality water and user comfort.
Designed as a protection station, this bronze reducer has the main function of regulating the incoming pressure (up to 16 bars) to the desired value (recommended and factory preset at 3 bars). The use of a patented Venturi effect optimizes pressure control and limits pressure drops on the installation. The scale visible on both sides of the dial makes it easy to adjust and check the outgoing pressure value.
To further improve water quality, the BWT D1 is also fitted with a 160µm stainless steel filter screen which retains the coarsest impurities in the water (sand, particles, scale or corrosion residues, etc.) and protects installation. Its transparent plastic bowl allows easy checking of the state of the filter. In case of clogging it can be disassembled without tools.
+ The Product: by registering his BWT D1 pressure reducer on the manufacturer's BEST WATER HOME mobile app, the user receives notifications for the replacement and cleaning of the stainless steel filter screen and can monitor his water savings in real time.

The right time, the right arguments to make the right choice
In the case of an existing installation, the pressure reducer is recommended when replacing the boiler room or the domestic hot water tank (DHW). And generally, it completes the filtration system at the general water inlet.
For a new installation, it is ideal to equip yourself with the E1 protection station: a complete and ready-to-install station which combines 5 functions: 90µm filtration, pressure reducer, control pressure gauge, non-return valve and water shut-off valve. The E1 station offers maximum protection of the water network against impurities and excess pressure, for a minimum footprint.
In single-family homes, collectives or apartments, these two BWT solutions considerably reduce the risk of equipment seizing and extend their lifespan. They reduce water consumption. Finally, they offer users the comfort of water free of impurities and undesirable components.
