Buildots unveils AI-powered forecasting tool to reduce construction delays

The feature also includes granular, activity-level insights into the root causes of delays, enabling project managers to continuously improve their performance and strategy.

Intuitively integrated into the main Buildots dashboard, Delay Forecast flags activities at risk of falling behind schedule, quantifies those risks by providing projected task completion dates, and recommends rate corrections to mitigate and prevent delays. When users receive delay alerts, they can enter new assumptions and see how those changes may affect the schedule, allowing them to optimize and refine strategies and determine the best path forward. The dashboard also allows project teams to track risk trends week over week, allowing them to see the true impact of their decisions.

This feature was developed following a study conducted by Buildots, which revealed that 62% of activities consistently run slower than planned, and 25% of activities run at half the planned pace. The findings also indicated that, often, even when critical activities are poorly executed week after week, these issues go unnoticed until they have already had a significant impact on project timelines.

Delay Forecast has been tested on several construction sites worldwide and has been shown to reduce lead times by 50% when used with PDCM. One such site is a large-scale Danish government complex, currently being built by leading Scandinavian contractor NCC Denmark.
