The real estate arm of the French banking group BNP Paribas is seeking a buyer for the British agency network Strutt & Parker, which it acquired in 2017, according to information published a few days ago by Sky News.
BNP Paribas Real Estate "has started to survey (potential) buyers of the network, which employs more than 500 people", states the British media on its site, without citing its sources.
Contacted by AFP, BNP Paribas Real Estate does not “(wish) to comment on this information”.
Founded in 1885, Strutt & Parker claims a network of "over 50 offices across the UK". BNP Paribas Real Estate announced in July 2017 the acquisition of the real estate network and its merger with the British subsidiary of the bank's real estate branch.
BNP Paribas published a net profit of 3,1 billion euros in the first quarter of 2024, down almost 30% compared to the first three months of 2023, marked by the entry in its accounts of the sale of its American subsidiary Bank of the West.
The banking group has initiated an “operational efficiency” plan which should enable it to generate 2,7 billion euros in savings between 2022 and 2025.
