BioZone, the most powerful solution to purify the air of SARS-CoV-2

Ooria, exclusive distributor for France of BioZone air purification devices, is delighted with the confirmation of the effectiveness of these solutions against SARS-CoV-2. These devices allow the air to be purified without the use of chemicals. They use a technology bringing together 5 different and independent purification mechanisms united in a single technology developed by NASA and patented. Unlike many other technologies on the market, BioZone technology is not just about the isolated use of UV lamps, ions or ozone. It is the measured combination of five mechanisms that makes it the best technology for the decontamination of air and surfaces continuously and in human presence (see box).

The tests were carried out by BCS Laboratories, an ISO / IEC 17025 certified laboratory in Florida (United States), accredited by the US Centers for Disease Control, the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Health.

The tests were designed to model the exposure time versus inactivation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the moving air stream in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The results of these tests published on December 10, 2020 show that the BioZone devices can inactivate viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, in less than a second.

Focus on BioZone technology

Inside the device, photocatalytic oxidation breaks down Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) such as methane or benzene and BioZone's patented UV-C lamps exert their germicidal power by eliminating bacteria, molds, micro- organisms and viruses.

Outside of the device, BioZone uses a photochemical process to produce PhotoPlasma (cold oxygen plasma) which contains reactive molecules, ions, electrons and radicals that actively destroy and break down the biological and chemical structures of air contaminants, including viruses.

This PhotoPlasma contains:

• a very reactive and energized oxygen which disinfects the air;
• a controlled level of ozone (in accordance with European and global exposure standards) which eliminates bacteria, molds, micro-organisms and viruses;
• negative ions which increase the efficiency of the process by removing impurities and airborne dust.

This PhotoPlasma has been tested and verified to be extremely potent against airborne viruses and deposited on surfaces.
