Certain everyday actions can become difficult, or even accident-prone, with the arrival of the first fragilities of life. The technologies represented by IGNES, the alliance of manufacturers of electrical and digital building solutions, are thus financed by this system to strengthen the safety and comfort of life of seniors and vulnerable people, so that they can age as long as possible. possible at home.
Support for technological solutions: a major step forward for the autonomy of seniors, vulnerable people and their caregivers
Resulting from a campaign promise from the President of the Republic, the MaPrimeAdapt’ system aims to financially support work to adapt to aging/disability in the poorest households. Among the main categories of eligible work are technologies that facilitate recurring domestic tasks to help French people age well at home, while easing the daily lives of their caregivers.
For example, the installation of a light path that turns on automatically to guide a person safely at night helps reduce the risk of falling, while the installation of roller shutters and connected locks simplifies closing/opening gestures, including without moving, while reinforcing the security of the home.
In addition to contributing to maintaining an independent and fulfilling life, these solutions play a crucial role in the lives of family caregivers, by alerting in the event of critical situations such as gas leaks, abnormal water consumption, excessive heat, or prolonged absence of activity of their loved one.
To be eligible for MaPrimeAdapt', the work must be recommended by a work supervisor, qualified by the ANAH, called "Project Management Assistant/AMO" who will have carried out a diagnosis of the work needs, with regard to the fragilities of the person, in particular by using occupational therapists if necessary.
Non-stigmatizing solutions, useful at all ages and offering real added value to housing
Digital and home automation solutions perfectly meet the desire to stay at home and age at home. Especially since 90% of seniors want to live as long as possible in the accommodation they currently occupy (IFOP study - October 2023).
Conceived according to a design intended for everyone, these solutions are useful at all ages of life; just as a light path is relevant for children who get up at night, a room heating control system allows everyone to lower their energy bill: because it is the home that adapts and serves its occupants. Whatever happens, these developments offer more comfort and security and also enhance the owners' assets by giving them real added value.
For Benoit COQUART, President of IGNES: “When a person loses autonomy, certain homes where life was good can become unsuitable and risky. Digital and home automation solutions meet the challenges of aging well: they preserve the independence of occupants, simplify their daily lives and reassure caregivers. Education around these solutions is of crucial importance, because they have the potential to significantly improve the quality of life of individuals aging at home. MaPrimeAdapt’ is a promising tool which should help the French to move towards a better knowledge of existing solutions and allow them to anticipate future fragilities. »
