Around forty major players in the construction sector are committed to resilient urban planning alongside the City of Bordeaux

Created in 2021 by the City of Bordeaux, the “Bâtiment Frugal Bordelais” label aims to develop quality housing and respond to the climate emergency declared by Pierre Hurmic in July 2020. This label, which received the 1st Housing prize at the Zero Carbon 2022 forum in Paris, aims to establish resilient, resource-efficient urban planning adapted to the specific features of the territory.

It also helps reduce the carbon impact of construction by promoting rehabilitation while preserving existing natural spaces.

In 2021, the city of Bordeaux therefore established a “Manifesto of Frugality” to unite its partners in the construction chain around this objective of frugality. Signed by the Fédération des Promoteurs Immobiliers Gironde, it was intended to be joined by other local stakeholders. This Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the “Manifesto of Frugality” was signed at the City Hall by around forty major players in the construction industry (developers, social landlords, developers, architects, landscapers, design offices, etc.).
