Fixed ladders must in particular be designed, equipped and installed in such a way as to prevent falls from a height. In practice, this presupposes the use of fixed ladders with cages.
The Labor Code also emphasizes the importance of using quality material and a solid assembly, allowing an appropriate use of the equipment from an ergonomic point of view (source).
The objective is to allow safe access for professional staff (operational maintenance, operation) to industrial buildings, industrial facilities, technical premises and terraces, etc.
But for manufacturers and construction companies, it is not always easy to make the right choice: how to ensure that the installed equipment is really reliable at all levels (material used, welding, coating, protection against corrosion ...)? In theory, builders of steel structures must meet the EN 1090 standard, but in reality few companies comply with this requirement.
In this context and to meet the legitimate quality requirements of its customers, the Norman SME ANOXA, specializing in the manufacture of overhead access and metal construction equipment, becomes the first French manufacturer to obtain NF EN 1090-2 certification for its steel cage ladders.
A guarantee that meets the security challenges of personnel
In France, the builders of steel structures must meet the EN 1090 standard, but few companies comply with this obligation. This is a standard which aims to harmonize the different rules for the manufacture and marketing of steel and aluminum constructions between the different countries of the EU.
As part of this certification, ANOXA has also validated the EN ISO 3834 standard and obtained 52 welding qualifications by integrating quality into its fusion welding process.
These steps required significant adaptations in the company for each stage, from the design to the delivery of its ladders.
Philippe FAUSSER, the Director, underlines: Apart from complying with regulations, validating this certification allows us to reassure our customers, to structure the company and gives us access to other markets while constituting a real competitive advantage. Today we are also starting the same work on aluminum and stainless steel.
A project that involved all of the company's departments
The certification process required 1 year of work and the mobilization of all ANOXA teams.
To coordinate this ambitious project, there was a steering committee made up of:
- Philippe, Activity Director;
- Sophie, Quality manager;
- Yann, Industrial manager;
- Florian, Supply chain manager;
- Antoine, Materials Engineer;
- Philippe, Workshop manager.
Young engineer interns have also been involved in this work.
The crinoline ladder: safe access to all places in
height
Cage ladders can be used to access roofs and terraces from the outside or through an interior hatch, provide emergency access (e.g. firefighter access), descend into ducts and chimneys, access machines / silos / tanks / cisterns, or even go to walkways, landings and intermediate levels.
ANOXA offers models that comply at least with standards NF E 85-016 and NF EN ISO 14122-4 which offer real advantages:
4 subjects to choose from
Aluminum, galvanized steel, 304L stainless steel and 316L stainless steel ladders kept in stock. The color of the crinoline ladder can be customized.
Easy assembly
The detailed installation instructions allow rapid installation of the elements delivered in a kit. Pre-assembly optional.
Made in Normandy
ANOXA's aluminum, steel and stainless steel ladders are entirely manufactured in its workshops.
Quote and dimensional plan in a few clicks
ANOXA has a configurator that allows its customers to create their custom-made crinoline ladder in a few clicks (dimensions, exits, flight change and landings, etc.). Customers then immediately receive their detailed estimate, dimensional plan and custom 3D plan. The sales department is also at their disposal to provide them with a quote within 24 hours.
