Specializing in the manufacture of custom-made PVC and mixed (PVC/aluminum) joinery for all the commercial brands of the AT Partner group to which it belongs, the AMCC production site based in Châteauroux (Indre) has been pursuing a ambitious investment policy.
After a first phase initiated in 2020, the company is today announcing a 2th wave of investments amounting to 11,5 million euros in order to expand the site and modernize its production facilities.
From 2020 to 2022, given the success of its Alya range of hybrid windows, the AMCC site will see its activity accelerate. To meet demand, it invested 3,1 million euros to renew its aging machinery with state-of-the-art equipment, including:
- a digital flow center for steel reinforcements,
- an automatic frame welding line supplemented by three shoeing robots which carry out the most difficult and repetitive tasks, thus improving the working conditions of operators.
The integration of these new production processes requiring the extension of the site, so far with a covered area of 18.000 m2, AMCC is moving up a gear and is undertaking an investment plan for a total amount of 11,5 million euros spread between 2023 and 2026. This is accompanied by the creation of around ten positions. The site, which achieved a turnover of more than 30 million euros in 2022, now has 135 employees.
Investments in the service of quality and productivity
Started in June for an amount of 4,1 million euros, the construction of the new 4.500 m building2 brings the total surface area of the production site to 23.000 m2. It is intended to accommodate a 4th assembly line operational in summer 2024 and a workshop entirely dedicated to the manufacture of the Alya hybrid range. Its roof will be equipped with 3.500 m2 photovoltaic panels which will cover 50 to 90% of the site's annual electricity needs depending on the season.
At the same time, AMCC is dedicating a budget of 7,4 million euros to continue to modernize its production tools by installing during 2024:
- a new machining center
- an automatic opening welding line
- a collage robot
- to finish in 2026, with a vertical storage tower for the openings which will ensure better fluidity in production
The acquisition of a robot is also being studied in order to handle the installation of double glazing which weighs on average 20 kg/m2 so as to lighten the physical load on operators.
In addition to guaranteeing improved quality of joinery, all of these investments should enable AMCC to double its production capacity for the Alya mixed window and to increase from 2.000 to 2.300 windows per week for the 21 other ranges of custom-made joinery. on the Châteauroux site.
