Aid for the renovation of buildings: the State temporarily eases the eligibility of small businesses

The government has been conducting since January 1 an "experiment to simplify the access of small businesses and craftsmen to the energy renovation market", announced in a press release the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.

The energy renovation of buildings is one of the main thrusts of the recovery plan presented last year by the government with the idea of ​​sustainably pulling the economy out of the covid-19 crisis.

Several billion euros are intended to support renovation, including a large envelope dedicated to the main aid to individuals, MaPrimeRénov '.

But, to benefit from it, the work must be carried out by a company which holds a label, RGE for "recognized guarantor of the environment", and the building sector considers that too many small groups give up asking for it for fear of too difficult procedure.

From now on, for a small company or a craftsman, it will be possible to offer reimbursed services "without holding the RGE designation before the start of the work, within the limit of three sites until the end of 2022", explains the government.

Companies will nevertheless have to prove that they have had two years of service and will be evaluated on an ad hoc basis by different labeling bodies, on their estimate and then on the concrete result of their work.

"Once the work is deemed compliant, companies can invoice the individual", specifies the government.

This easing should only last for a limited period, the government specifying that it was a question of putting "the foot in the stirrup" of craftsmen and small groups to apply for the RGE label.
