AGC Glass Europe partners with PVB manufacturer Eastman for the integration of Saflex™ LiteCarbon™ interlayer into Stratobel Low-Carbon glass

The integration of Eastman’s Saflex™ LiteCarbon™ Clear interlayer into AGC’s Low-Carbon glass represents a significant step forward in reducing the embodied carbon of laminated glass products. This combined solution offers window manufacturers a high-performance, climate-friendly option without compromising quality or safety. The product provides excellent transparency and meets stringent safety standards, making it suitable for residential windows and a wide range of applications.

Stratobel low-carbon glass has reduced global warming potential

Saflex™ LiteCarbon™ Clear is a 0,76mm PVB interlayer with a reduced global warming potential (GWP) of 2,4kg CO2 eq/m² (1). This aligns perfectly with AGC’s low carbon glass, which has a GWP of 5,5kg CO2 eq/m² for a 4mm float glass (2). Together, these components create an ideal synergy, providing an option to further reduce the carbon footprint of laminated glass solutions.
