Developing a turnover close to 15 million euros for 2023, Normandy Tub now has 45 employees working on its two Normandy sites, based in Giberville and Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, with an annual production capacity of around 150.000 tonnes.
Investing regularly since its creation in cutting-edge industrial tools (concrete plants, edging machine, connection box machine, block press, aggregate storage tower, palletizing robot), Normandy Tub claims “made in Normandy” know-how with NF-certified products since 1973. It should also be noted that Normandy Tub makes a point of using all its aggregates, raw materials, from the local area.
Normandy Tub has also provided a number of regional references for prestigious and large-scale projects such as Mont Saint-Michel, the Tram, the Château and the CHU of Caen or the Mondeville 2 shopping center. The A13 and A88 motorways, the T4 and T5 lines of Rouen as well as the school complex of Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray also illustrate the contribution of Normandy Tub.
Let us recall that Nathalie Chapalain, 2nd generation at the helm of this family business, sold the Normandy Tub activities in January 2024 to the Alkern Group, the French leader in the manufacture of prefabricated concrete elements (250 million euros in turnover for 1.000 employees and 57 production units).
More than an acquisition, a symbiotic marriage
Since this acquisition, Normandy Tub has aligned its strategy with that of the Alkern Group and its CSR commitments. Thus, while 20% of the products sold by Alkern are less than 15 years old, each of them has a reduced environmental impact, either thanks to its optimized production (frugality in materials, water saving, circular economy with recovery of recycled materials, etc.), or via the use of the product itself once installed (water infiltration, albedo effect for ICUs, thermal performance of the blocks, etc.).
Finally, let us mention that if Normandy Tub is expanding its initial ranges with the contribution of the Group since the company now produces references from the O' Range (drainage roads), it reciprocally brings to the Group complementary expertise and production capacity concerning large diameter pipes in the North and Ile-de-France zones.
