Refurbished sanitary facilities for a second life
Each year, the Acorus Group renovates, rehabilitates and maintains several thousand homes, some of which require the installation of new sanitary facilities. Rather than buying new ones, in agreement with its customers (social landlords, Paris Habitat, 3F, etc.), Acorus has chosen to reuse, by sourcing products recovered from construction sites in Ile-de-France and taken supported by Cycle Up. After effective cleaning and reconditioning by the head of the reuse workshop, the sanitary facilities will be reinstalled on sites undergoing renovation. This partnership with the start-up Cycle Up begins with ceramic sanitary ware, toilets, sinks and shower trays. Drawing on the technical expertise of Acorus, the workshop teams take care of refurbishing the products by changing all the wearing parts, to give the materials a lifespan identical to a new product. . The materials are checked to guarantee a product in perfect condition and a quality comparable to a new product, all benefiting from the best performance guarantee.
A circular, local and low-carbon economy approach
The Cycle Up workshop aims to recover materials deconstructed in Ile-de-France, recondition them on its site before Acorus technicians reinstall them on construction sites in the region. Beyond the carbon savings linked to transport, the major ecological impact makes it possible to avoid the waste of materials that can be reused, as well as to avoid the production of the same material in factories far removed from the basin. Ile-de-France. The Acorus Group's approach is part of a partnership with Cycle Up, which is developing a global circular economy solution for the reuse of construction materials. This makes it possible to respond to the challenges of building waste and to offer a simple, pragmatic and local low-carbon construction method.
For Christophe Dugourd, Development Director of Cycle Up: “Our approach aims to propose local reindustrialization, dedicated to a low-carbon economy. With this first workshop, we wish to offer Acorus and all construction and real estate players in Ile-de-France a range of refurbished and requalified products for a reduced environmental impact, and thus offer them a real alternative to new materials. »
For Philippe Benquet, Chairman of the Acorus Group: “The environment is at the heart of our daily lives. Reusing existing materials is one way to reduce CO2 emissions from the building sector. Reuse also makes it possible to remedy the scarcity of raw materials and to reinject materials with a zero carbon footprint into the construction sector, since there is no need to manufacture them again. It is important to take environmental data into account through our technical work but also our way of implementing it. Thanks to the energy savings they enable, the maintenance, renovation and rehabilitation solutions implemented daily by our 978 technicians represent gains in the energy consumption of homes. »
