This new roof is intended to receive photovoltaic panels on its south-facing slopes. The asbestos fiber cement sheets, which had become too old, were likely, in the long term, to present a risk for the occupants of the building and did not make it possible to respond to this new project. The company ETERA was chosen for the renovation of this very large roof of 17.000 m². It ensured the asbestos removal of the whole, by the removal of the old plates, then the installation of the new cover which will have to receive the photovoltaic panels.
Insulating sandwich panels with a steel exterior cladding were selected for this project and, so that the interior of the building benefits from daylight, ONDUCLAIR THERMO translucent polycarbonate panels were chosen to punctuate the new roofing with light sources. .
"The particularity of ONDUCLAIR THERMO sheets is that they offer the same thickness as the sandwich panels, they are perfectly compatible, which facilitated their integration into the new roof"says Laurent Ferret, director of ETERA.
The ONDUCLAIR THERMO solution from ONDULINE has in fact been specifically developed to be associated with sandwich panels in new roofs or under renovation and to illuminate the interior of buildings (factories, agricultural sheds, public buildings, etc.). The ONDUCLAIR THERMO sheet is made up of 2 parts: a polycarbonate or polyester sheet and a bottom sheet in cellular polycarbonate. Its transparency ensures maximum comfort inside buildings thanks to increased light transmission.
ONDUCLAIR THERMO - Easy to install
"The frame was very old, with very irregular between axes between purlins" adds Laurent Ferret,"We must underline the flexibility and responsiveness of ONDULINE which has enabled us to benefit from our ONDUCLAIR sheets in the various dimensions requested".
The assembly of ONDUCLAIR THERMO panels is quick and easy. The panels are placed in advance, at the same time as the metal panels. The panels have longitudinal reinforcements under each main rib to increase their rigidity.
Easy to implement and benefiting from high impact resistance, the ONDUCLAIR THERMO solution is flexible according to the needs of the sites.
Available in many thicknesses (30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 150 mm), it allows perfect adaptation to the various metal sandwich panels on the market.
The air spaces in the panels act as a natural insulator. For more comfort and in order to meet the most demanding needs in terms of insulation, ONDULINE offers an option T (Thermal Comfort) which offers high-performance insulation coefficients (up to 0,836W / m².K).
ONDUCLAIR THERMO solutions are available in a wide range to meet all needs:
- ONDUCLAIR THERMO PC: sandwich panel system with the upper skin in polycarbonate with a thickness of 1 mm and the lower skin in cellular polycarbonate.
- ONDUCLAIR THERMO PLR: sandwich panel system with the upper skin in polyester with a thickness of 1,2 to 1,6 mm and the lower skin in cellular polycarbonate.
- ONDUCLAIR THERMO PC T and PLR T: systems with “Thermal Comfort” option for increased insulation.
- ONDUCLAIR THERMO PC R and PLR R: systems with "Reinforced" option for increased resistance to loads and greater ease of installation in new or renovation.
- ONDUCLAIR PC TR AND PLR TR: systems benefiting from the 2 options “Reinforced” and “Thermal Comfort” allowing to combine thermal and mechanical performance and ease of use.
