CEMEX is supplying low-carbon concrete for this new building, the design of which meets numerous sustainability criteria.
A location that makes sense
This new 4 m² establishment will replace the current specialized reception center “Château Saint Pierre” located in Mont-Blanc. The architecture of the latter no longer met the accessibility standards necessary for residents, while its dilapidated state and its disproportionate surface area generated excessively high maintenance costs. APF France handicap has chosen to set up the new “Résidence Belles Terres” medico-social center in the ZAC de Mazéran, the purpose of which is to bring together cutting-edge companies, particularly in the health and para-medical sectors. This technopark also benefits from proximity to major transport axes, thus facilitating access to the future socio-medical center for staff and visitors.
Under the sign of consultation
Sustainability is a significant issue of the project. The social aspect was supported from the start since residents and staff were consulted very early on, during the programming and design phases, alongside APF France handicap. The integration near a wine estate, the strong expectation of a quality landscape environment, the need to create a place of life where one treats and not the opposite, were also taken into consideration as well as the desire to promote local and recycled building materials, to optimize energy performance and to reduce nuisances for neighboring businesses during the construction site. In total, CEMEX will have supplied 5 m000 of Vertua® classic low-carbon concrete and 3 m200 of stone-effect stamped architectural concrete to the company Olacia in charge of the structural work. These deliveries were made from the neighboring production units of Béziers and Lignan. Vertua® concretes, marketed by CEMEX from 3, are widely acclaimed by project owners and contractors because they reduce the carbon footprint of concrete by more than 2018% and, optionally, offset the remaining emissions.
Low-carbon concrete and environmentally friendly tools
In addition to the quality of the low-carbon concrete and the deliveries to the site, the company Olacia appreciated the availability of the CEMEX teams with regard to their presence in the field, their listening and the rate of deliveries since the start of the site, which started in June 2021. , as well as the digitization of the customer journey via the CEMEX Go tool, which makes life easier for construction players - ordering materials, tracking deliveries in real time, document management, etc. - all paperless.
The teams of the Occitanie Est sector are proud to contribute to this virtuous socio-economic project which has also been recognized as "Sustainable Building Occitanie, silver level" for its design phase. The structural work is scheduled to be completed next June.
