
As every year, the expert surveyors invite the engineers of tomorrow to discover their daily lives through an "eXpert game" intended to present them with all the facets of the profession in a fun and original way.
For this fourth edition, more than a hundred students from ESGT-Cnam (Le Mans), INSA (Strasbourg) and ESTP (Cachan) responded to the challenge.
After a first round consisting of a digital challenge from March 6 to 9, budding surveyors were invited to Paris, this Thursday, March 30, aboard the barge "Le Diamant Bleu" to reinvent the site of the Eiffel Tower. at the dawn of the 2024 Olympic Games. A theme that did not fail to fascinate our aspiring surveyors.
For nearly three hours, this special "Olympic Games 2024" edition will have enabled students to discover all the skills that expert surveyors must call on to rethink and promote such iconic monuments as the Iron Lady and the Trocadero in the world. part of a large-scale development project.
The INSA Strasbourg team won the challenge ahead of the ESGT-Cnam Le Mans and ESTP Cachan teams. Joseph Pascual, President of the Superior Council of the Order of Surveyors-Experts, wished to highlight "the quality of the projects proposed to the jury by the 18 teams in the running" and "hopes to quickly find the students in the cabinets of the surveyors-expert ".
To highlight the great achievements produced, the Order of Surveyors and its partners wanted to reward the three participating schools for their commitment. The first school was therefore given a Teria PYX (the new generation GNSS receiver which allows mapping or topography work to be carried out with centimeter precision), while the second and third benefited from a computer.
The Order of Surveyors also presented checks worth 700 euros, 500 euros and 300 euros to each student office of the three schools selected to reward the involvement and mobilization of all students. Finally, the 6 members of the winning team had the pleasure of receiving a gift certificate worth 200 euros each. For Sophie from INSA Strasbourg, “it was an incredible day, enriching and the theme was really exciting! ".
True to its values, the Order of Surveyors-Experts wanted to involve students in order to support important causes such as the fight against violence against women, the right to difference and the fight against AIDS and support in favor of young neighborhoods from working-class neighborhoods. The Order committed 5.000 euros to allow students to vote for the causes they wanted to support. The sum was therefore distributed in proportion to the votes between the Women's Foundation, the LINK Endowment Fund and Nos Quartiers ont des Talents, of which the profession has been a partner for several years.
Joseph Pascual returned to this fourth edition of the eXpert game: "The immersive events of this type allow us to show that the expert surveyor is today a committed and central player in the organization of international meetings such as the 2024 Olympic Games. This is a campaign that allows us to attract the attention of young talents in a very tight recruitment context. Today all surveyor-expert firms are looking to hire and nearly 3.000 positions are to be filled throughout France”.
