A consortium tipped for the Cayenne airport concession

After a thorough analysis of the offers received (...) the group consisting of Egis Airport Operation, the Caisse des dépôts et consignations, Alyse Guyane, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Guyana region and the Entreprise Générale Léon Grosse came out on top of the ranking and was designated the preferred bidder for the concession contract," the DGAC stated in a press release.

Egis is a French group specializing in infrastructure management. It boasts 20 airports in its portfolio, from Brest to Tahiti, including Beauvais and Larnaca (Cyprus). Alyse Guyane, for its part, is the investment fund of the local authority.

"The contract includes a major investment program, particularly in the terminal and on the aeronautical areas. It also sets ambitious objectives for quality of service and sustainable development," noted the DGAC.

Cayenne Airport handled some 496.000 passengers in 2024, according to the French Airports Union. It ranks fifth among French overseas airports, behind those of Réunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Tahiti.

"As an essential link in territorial continuity with mainland France," the airport also constitutes "a major logistical player for the activities of the Guiana Space Center," from which Ariane rockets are launched, Civil Aviation emphasized.

The designation announced Friday "now initiates the phase of finalizing the concession for entry into force by October 1, 2025," according to the same source.
