The history, the soul supplement of Castel houses
It was Pierre Castel who in 1890 laid the first stone of this exceptional house, the transmission of which has always been done on the ground. Edouard and Albert, his sons, Jean-Paul and Jean-Claude, his grandsons then Daniel Rospide then took over. Construction, renovation and tailor-made projects: for over a century, 5 generations of passionate builders have perpetuated the history and know-how of Castel Fils.
Today it is Philippe Idiart's turn to blow out this 130th candle. To rely on solid foundations in order to always raise the excellence and values of the company.
The maintenance of local heritage as a spearhead
Through its various construction or renovation works, Castel has always been keen to highlight and protect the Basque style and aesthetics. Each architectural project is carried out in accordance with the peculiarities of the local landscape.
"We wish to register our achievements over time so that they cross the generations, by combining mastery of traditional know-how and innovative techniques. We create and enhance living spaces while respecting the local heritage and the aspirations of our clients with whom we build special relationships. This is where the richness of the work of our teams lies. " underlines Philippe Idiart.
Innovation at the heart of tradition
On the carpentry side, Castel modernized its workshop last year by equipping itself with numerically controlled machines, in particular a 5-axis machining center. Equipment that allows it to better respond to the personalized requests of its customers and to bring to life entirely tailor-made creations and fittings: kitchen, dressing room, libraries or even solid wood furniture.
At Castel we are recruiting!
Because at Castel “There is no history without builders”, today it is the combined know-how of some thirty craftsmen integrated into the company and young apprentices that make its wealth: masons, tilers, carpenters, or cabinet makers. Faced with growing demands for future renovation or construction projects, Castel is opening its doors to new employees. So if you are a mason, tiler or carpenter passionate about your profession, the Castel team is waiting for you to blow out the next candle.
