A 550m2 building delivered in 3 months to the Jurques Zoo in Normandy

Desiring new premises, the Jurques Zoo lives at the rate of tourism and the works had to be carried out during the winter closure, respecting the budget and the roadmap. Flexibility and reliability have enabled Legoupil Industrie to complete this project in record time: 3 months, finishes included.

The structure had to blend into the existing infrastructure, be spacious and flexible enough to configure and reconfigure the layout according to the needs of the activity. The team also wanted a bright space, designed in a “workshop” spirit and easy to access.

Only 3 months after the start of work, Legoupil Industrie handed over the keys to its 350m² reception and boutique area and its 205m² restaurant to Jurques Zoo. The new building with modern lines was built on one level to meet the technical constraints of accessibility for people with reduced mobility and strollers. It is encircled by bay windows that meet the customer's light requirement. The reception awning has been designed to shelter customers in bad weather while making access more fluid in case of heavy traffic. Spacious and with high ceilings, it includes storage spaces for the instructions of visitors and strollers, and large desks for staff. Thanks to the insulation of the cladding, the roof and the floor, the energy costs are equivalent to that of a traditional construction.

"After 2 winters, the energy balance is very satisfactory in view of the poor orientation of the existing", concludes Guillaume Ourry, manager.

For the layout, Legoupil opted for a creamy white cedral overlay that contrasts with the aluminum exterior joinery, and visible ducts to create the sought-after “workshop” spirit.
