Turnover increased by 4% to 71 billion euros.
"Vinci achieved a very high level of performance in 2024," said its CEO Xavier Huillard, who is preparing to hand over the reins of general management. "The increase in turnover was accompanied by a further improvement in results despite the new tax on French motorways. Free cash flow (available cash flow, editor's note) reached a record level."
"In a more uncertain economic and geopolitical environment, the group thus has good visibility on the evolution of its activity and approaches the year 2025 with confidence and serenity," he added.
Pierre Anjolras will assume the general management of Vinci after the group's next general meeting. Xavier Huillard will remain chairman of the board of directors.
The French giant benefited from the continued rebound in air traffic last year. Vinci Airports saw its annual traffic exceed the pre-health crisis level and "showed an increase in its contribution to the group's results": 947 million euros.
The economic performance of the energy branch - Vinci Energies and Cobra IS (nearly 40% of the group's total activity) - "was particularly vigorous", Vinci emphasizes. "It benefits from very buoyant markets driven in particular by the energy transition, digital transformation and the growing need for sustainable mobility".
"Overall, the order book for the energy and construction branches reached a new high at the end of the financial year," stressed Xavier Huillard.
"These underlying trends also support the activity and order intake of Vinci Construction, whose operating margin (...) continued to improve in 2024," the group said. The turnover of this branch came to 31,8 billion euros and the operating margin to 4,1%.
On the other hand, Vinci Immobilier suffered a loss of 57 million euros and its turnover fell by 7,2% to 1,1 billion. The increase in activity in the fourth quarter (+1,7%) made it possible to limit the decline over the whole year.
Finally, Vinci Autoroutes experienced stable traffic "despite the blocking actions suffered in the first half of the year" and the implementation of the new tax on the operation of long-distance transport infrastructure "seriously penalized its results", which came to 1,8 billion euros for a turnover of 6,58 billion.
"Vinci's international presence has been further strengthened in 2024," Xavier Huillard stressed. "The group now generates 58% of its revenue and the majority of its net profit there" and "the international share of the order book has reached 70%."
The group stressed that its earnings forecasts for 2025 did not take into account the "impact of increased taxation in France".
