The Danish group Vestas, Europe's leading wind turbine manufacturer, recorded its "highest revenue ever" and a net profit that climbed 55% in 2025 thanks to a very full order book, according to its annual report published a few days ago.
Vestas posted a net profit of €778 million last year. Its revenue reached €18,82 billion, a 9% increase year-on-year.
The group's combined order book reached €71,9 billion at the end of 2025, an unprecedented level.
This corresponds to orders representing 23 gigawatts (GW) for onshore wind, its core business, and 8 gigawatts (GW) for offshore wind. Also at a record high, orders for the services business generated €38,7 billion.
For 2026, Vestas is forecasting revenues between 20 and 22 billion euros, despite "geopolitical and customs duty risks".
In the United States, where the manufacturer delivered 3,773 MW in 2025, its largest market, "regulatory changes have made future investments in clean energy less attractive than before," the group stressed, also concerned about "uncertainty related to tariffs."
Donald Trump publicly displays his hostility towards wind power, which he calls an "economic and environmental disaster", and tries to oppose offshore wind projects.
On the Copenhagen stock exchange, the share price was down 6,3% shortly after 10:30 am (09:30 GMT) in a market trending downwards (-1,37%).
