Unions call on MPs to "thoroughly overhaul" the Social Security budget project

In a letter sent to MPs, they denounce in particular the increase in the co-payment because according to them, "complementary health insurance will once again find itself having to support the organised disengagement of Social Security".

"Instead of financing in a mutualized way, everyone will have to pay their expenses, either by the remaining cost or by an increase in the complementary health insurance but also the pension contracts", according to this letter sent Thursday to the deputies and revealed to the press Monday.

For the unions, the planned increase of 2,8% in health insurance spending and 3,1% in public health establishments "are far from meeting needs".

They denounce the amendments adopted in committee which "threaten to unravel", according to them, the measures providing for a "gentle weaning of companies" from "systematic social exemptions".

On Tuesday, the deputies in committee rejected a key article of the PLFSS intended to overhaul the reductions in employer contributions, and in the process release 4 to 5 billion euros.

"The trade union organisations are fiercely opposed to this new refusal by employers to participate in the common effort and solidarity" and are demanding "conditionality for the remaining aid", according to this letter.
