Thermal rehabilitation of the Technical Services of Rives-en-Seine: the largest HP10 Solar terracotta tile roof in France

It is in the latter that all of Rives-en-Seine's technical services were transferred to a building, owned by the autonomous port of Rouen, which previously housed the repair workshops for ferries crossing the river.

Dating from the post-war period, the building nevertheless quickly became dilapidated from a thermal point of view and considerably energy-intensive. When the State, through the Local Investment Support Grant (DSIL) intended to help local authorities accelerate their energy transition, announced its "Recovery Plan" in 2022, the municipality of Rives-en-Seine decided to take advantage of this financial support to carry out a vast thermal rehabilitation operation of the site. This concerned, among other things, its exterior insulation and the complete repair of its roof with HP10 SOLAIRE and HP10 Huguenot terracotta tiles from EDILIANS.

For Mr. Bastien Coriton, Mayor of Rives-en-Seine and Departmental Councilor: « With one of the roof slopes facing due south, it was unthinkable not to take advantage of this renovation to produce energy while preserving the architectural identity of the building as it was originally constructed, with its red mechanical tiles. A requirement that we included in the specifications. »

In fact, the Technical Services building is located not far from the former 17th century Capuchin Convent.^th Century, since transformed into a neo-Renaissance style castle. The renovation work therefore had to comply with regulations for listed sites in order to preserve the landscape without damaging the building's original appearance. Adding to this constraint is the anchor-shaped sign integrated into its facade, which is itself protected by the heritage services.

Instead of ordinary photovoltaic panels, on the advice of the roofing company, the municipality of Rives-en-Seine chose solar tiles from EDILIANS, which " the aesthetics, almost invisible from the street, allowed the character of the built heritage to be preserved " A choice validated by the Architect of Buildings of France.

2.100 red HP10 SOLAR tiles with a unit power of 23 Wc, or 475 m², were installed on the southern side of the roof on the Seine side, as well as 725 m² HP10 Huguenot tiles in a rustic flamed color. Ensuring perfect integration into the project's landscape, the whole project benefits from a 30-year waterproofing guarantee.

For the time being, the mixed weather conditions of recent months and the connection to the public distribution network operator Enedis, which will only be finalized in October 2024, do not offer sufficient perspective in terms of energy efficiency. However, with an estimated electricity production capacity of 60 kWp, the objective is clear for the Mayor of Rives-en-Seine. cover all the energy needs of the Technical Services, whose electricity consumption before the work was 261k Wh. ep/m2/year* and use the surplus to supply the town hall and schools in the commune with collective self-consumption ».

With a total cost of more than €900.000 (diagnostics, studies, works including nearly €400.000 including tax for the roof repair) subsidized up to 70% by the State and the Department of Seine Maritime, this exemplary achievement, inaugurated last December in the presence of numerous officials, should undoubtedly be emulated in the region. It should also appeal to the many visitors to the Be Positive trade fair, from March 25 to 27, where EDILIANS will be exhibiting its wide range of solar solutions (Hall 1 – Stand F06).
