The solar industry says no to the government's proposed tariff revision order

The sector is calling on the government to "take into account" the changes suggested "by a very large majority" by the Council, a consultative body bringing together stakeholders in the energy sector in the construction of energy policy.

The objective is to "avoid an abrupt halt to the deployment of solar roofs and photovoltaic canopies", argue Enerplan and the Renewable Energy Union (SER) in a press release.

The CSE "first of all returns to the government's desire to introduce a brutal degression of the S21 tariff", and calls "for maintaining a fixed tariff of 95 EUR/MWh until a new alternative support mechanism is effectively put in place", underline the two organizations representing the sector.

"With regard to the segment of self-consumption by individuals, it requests that the reductions in tariffs and premiums only apply from the moment when the VAT rate reduced to 5,5% comes into force to allow the continuity of household installations," they add.

"All of these changes aim to ensure a more controlled development of the S21 solar segment while avoiding, as the government's initial proposals would lead to, a virtual de facto moratorium," estimate Enerplan and the SER.
