The Porte de la Chapelle redevelopment project wins the 2026 Île-de-France Local Investment Awards

Undertaken with a view to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this project aimed to transform a long-degraded city entrance into a calmer, greener metropolitan space more focused on sustainable mobility.

As the representative of the project management group composed of Richez_Associés, Concepto, Emma Blanc Paysage and Atelier Franck Boutté, Arcadis led the project with the objective of requalifying public spaces, reducing the place of the car and strengthening urban continuities between Paris and Saint-Denis.

Conceived as a lever for urban resilience, the redevelopment of Porte de la Chapelle has made it possible to sustainably improve the living environment of local residents and users, while also addressing climate challenges, particularly through the fight against heat islands and the sustainable management of rainwater.

This translates, in particular, to:

• the planting of 234 trees and the planting of vegetation over an area of ​​1.420 m² (existing embankments and newly created spaces)
• la de-sealing of a surface area of ​​1.650 m² and the establishment of 10 underground stormwater management basins
• the creation of more than a kilometer of cycle paths
• the creation of 2.600 m² of pedestrian area

The total cost of the work amounted to 23,12 millionThe operation is part of a broader redevelopment of northern Paris, which includes new housing, green spaces, university facilities (the Campus Condorcet) and the Arena which hosted several Olympic and Paralympic events of the Paris 2024 Games.

This project was carried out in close collaboration with the companies Terideal, Razel Bec (Fayat Group), Eiffage Route, Freyssinet and their partners mobilized for the execution of the works.

Organized annually by the FRTP Île-de-France, the Victoires de l'Investissement Local awards recognize projects that tangibly transform the territories of the Île-de-France region and improve the daily lives of its residents. The winners of the 2026 edition were announced on June 2nd at the Île-de-France Mayors' Conference.
