The Real Estate Diagnostics Alliance says STOP to DPE bashing, KRNO studies, and the biased media treatment of their profession

She then denounced a biased reading of the data as well as a clear conflict of interest, KRNO's business model being based precisely on questioning the reliability of the DPE in order to market its analyses and services.

The industry had pointed out that the phenomena observed around the E, F and G thresholds were explained by perfectly legitimate adjustments strictly in accordance with the regulatory method, linked in particular to the late transmission of information by owners or to the carrying out of additional investigations, and not to fraudulent practices.

She also stressed that the unfounded figures put forward by KRNO were in total contradiction with official data, with ADEME estimating that around 1,7% of DPEs were fraudulent practices, and recalled that real estate diagnosticians are one of the most regulated and controlled professions.

Following this study, some journalistic reports have echoed these biased analyses, while also partially relaying the summary of conclusions from the parliamentary report by MP Daniel Labaronne, even though this report has not yet been made public. These reports have focused exclusively on strengthening controls and regulating building inspectors, ignoring the numerous positive assessments of the profession and other proposals contained in this unpublished report.

This media sequence of "DPE bashing", which has turned into "diagnosticians bashing", is based on erroneous and biased elements and unfairly calls into question the entire sector, artificially amplified by the modification on January 1, 2026 of the primary energy conversion coefficient (CEP), even though the real estate diagnostics sector had been requesting this change for many years.

The Real Estate Diagnostic Alliance rejects any attempt to discredit based on biased analyses, inaccurate information or excessive questioning of the profession, and continues its work with public authorities and real estate stakeholders to strengthen the quality and understanding of the DPE, in the general interest.
