MaPrimeRénov' will reopen to everyone "in a few days", announces the Minister of Housing

The MaPrimeRénov' energy renovation aid scheme, suspended at the beginning of January, will be relaunched "as soon as the budget is promulgated," "in a few days," and will be open to all households, Housing Minister Vincent Jeanbrun announced on Thursday, February 5.

MaPrimeRénov', restricted to the most modest in September and suspended in January due to the lack of a finance law, was supposed to reopen for all households after the final adoption of the 2026 state budget, according to the government's promise.

"I had said very clearly that if there was no budget, there was no MaPrimeRénov' grant application window, well the good news is that it's here, there is a budget so as soon as the law is promulgated, which will happen in a few days, MaPrimeRénov' will be fully reopened," announced Vincent Jeanbrun on CNews and Europe 1.

"This is good news for the French and professionals in the sector," he said in a message on X.

The budget planned for 2026 for these subsidies for energy renovation of housing is 3,6 billion euros, an amount equivalent to that of last year, but which costs the State less thanks to an increased use of energy saving certificates (CEE, subsidies offered by energy suppliers).

With these funds, the National Housing Agency (Anah) plans to finance 150.000 individual renovation projects (such as replacing a boiler or windows) and 120.000 comprehensive housing renovations (68.000 in co-owned buildings and 52.000 single-family homes). However, this target of 120.000 renovations is already reduced by the 83.000 applications backlogged at the end of 2025.

Vincent Jeanbrun will visit a France Rénov' space in Yvelines on Friday, an agency providing information and support for renovation projects.
