Urban redevelopment for a more peaceful and green city center

The A26 project aims to reconnect the various parts of Lamorlaye, particularly the Domaine du Lys and the Château. To achieve this, a major pedestrian walkway will be created, forming a true urban promenade that will cross the town center and link the various public facilities and new shops.

Currently unsuitable for pedestrians, the public space will be profoundly transformed. The creation of three "garden squares" (Town Hall Square, Market Square, Tenure Square) will instill a social dimension by offering places for living and meeting.

Emphasis is also placed on greening public spaces with the planting of local trees, shrubs, and perennials to create pockets of coolness, promote biodiversity, and reinforce Lamorlaye's "garden city" identity. The project by the architecture firm A26 thus includes a significant increase in permeable surfaces, from 26% to 50%, notably through grassed paving in parking areas, contributing to better stormwater management.

A renewed attractiveness thanks to the renewal of the commercial, cultural and service offerings

The revitalization of Lamorlaye also involves the creation of new activities. A26 has worked on the transformation of underutilized or abandoned buildings.

The former town hall garages will be renovated to house a new shopping arcade. Additional retail offerings will also be developed in the Market Square to create a continuous shopping experience.

The former Municipal Technical Centre (CTM) will be transformed into a two-level cultural centre, housing, among other things, a dance school. Its open architecture will encourage interaction between different activities, users, and generations.

Part of the CTM will be redeveloped to house a health center, a key facility in the new program that has been popular with residents.

The renovation of iconic public facilities in the city centre

The town hall and market hall will be renovated and modernized to enhance Lamorlaye's heritage. A26 will begin by working on the historic building that houses the town hall, restoring its former grandeur. The creation of new plazas and a relaxation garden at the rear will make it more accessible to residents. The work will be carried out while the building remains open to the public to ensure uninterrupted service.

The current cultural center will be completely redesigned to become the new market hall, conceived as the true "heart of this town." The interior spaces will be opened up to accommodate vendors' stalls in a fluid and welcoming environment. A restaurant with a rooftop terrace is also planned, offering a new perspective on the town and the castle.
