The National Public Transport Meetings (RNTP) unveil the top 10 innovations that will transform public mobility

With more than €20 billion invested in networks each year and millions of passengers transported daily, the public transport sector is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. The RNTP will be an opportunity to discover 10 major innovations that facilitate public transport, serving both passengers and local communities.

They are no longer reserved for large cities: deployed in small towns and rural areas, they connect residents to collective networks.

• 2. Cable transport, the low-carbon champion

With only 5 to 10 g of CO₂/passenger/km, the cable is proving to be a sustainable solution for relieving congestion in cities and reducing their carbon footprint.

• 3. Artificial intelligence at the service of travelers

Conversational assistants, predictive traffic applications: AI is becoming a true “mobility companion”.

• 4. Data as a lever for efficiency

New real-time analysis platforms: line optimization, emissions monitoring and improvement of operational performance (+10% on certain networks).

• 5. On-demand transportation becomes smart

Thanks to deep learning, fleets automatically adjust to needs, reduce waiting times and anticipate saturation.

Stops, stations and parking lots are being transformed into producers of green electricity thanks to solar canopies, autonomous bicycle stations or photovoltaic parking lots.

A simple button integrated into the applications allows you to alert in the event of an attack or illness, with geolocation and real-time sound transmission.

Virtually tour a metro line before it opens? It's now possible thanks to immersive and fun apps being tested in several major cities.

Bright, connected and more welcoming, the new generation bus attracts new users by reinventing the public transport experience.

The 2025 edition of the RNTP will be resolutely focused on action and innovation. It will highlight concrete solutions that are already transforming public transport: artificial intelligence to streamline the passenger experience, low-carbon transport and green infrastructure to accelerate the ecological transition, new services to make mobility accessible to all, enhanced systems to restore safety and confidence, as well as shared mobility to reconnect forgotten territories. Visitors will also discover the concrete actions carried out by Orléans Métropole and the Centre-Val de Loire Region, hosts of this edition, through their stands and technical tours.

For three days, elected officials, operators, industrialists, researchers and entrepreneurs will debate changes in the sector, in a context marked by the 2026 municipal elections. This structuring event for the profession will also host the annual Congress of the GART (Group of Transport Authorities) and the UTPF (Union of Public and Rail Transport).
