Safety at work is a major concern for workers, employers and therefore for public authorities. Despite considerable efforts to prevent serious and fatal accidents at work, their number remains too high.
Indeed, every day in France, more than 100 workers are seriously injured, and two die. The consequences of these accidents are devastating not only for the workers concerned, but also for their families, their colleagues and their employer.
In addition, their economic impact is significant, in terms of direct and indirect costs for businesses, national solidarity and society as a whole. Combating serious and fatal accidents at work must therefore be a priority for all stakeholders.
Under the slogan “Better prepared, better equipped, better trained: employers, employees, take action on securiteautravail.gouv.fr ", the campaign aims to make all stakeholders responsible, regardless of their functions or sectors of activity. It aims to establish a real culture of safety within companies, and to make prevention a daily reflex.
Multi-media awareness devices
The campaign will take different forms in order to reach a wide audience:
- A TV and online video commercial (VOL): This 30-second film, broadcast from October 14, will feature real-life situations to illustrate professional risks and the importance of good safety practices.
- 10 radio spots: Testimonials from employers and employees who have implemented preventive measures will be broadcast on the main national radio channels.
- Press campaign: Insertions in the professional press will highlight concrete examples of sectors of activity that are particularly at risk, such as industry, construction, agriculture, catering and transport.
- Digital campaign: A digital component to direct employers and employees to the site securiteautravail.gouv.fr, which offers practical resources and tools to improve daily prevention.
- Communication kits: Awareness kits will also be made available to employers and employees with turnkey tools (posters, guides, practical sheets, etc.) to facilitate the adoption of good practices.
A strong message to raise awareness
With this campaign, the ministry hopes to create collective awareness of the importance of preventing occupational risks. As the Minister of Labor and Employment, Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet, points out: "Serious and fatal accidents leave behind grieving families and distraught work groups. However, they are not inevitable, and call into question our collective ability to make work a safe place for everyone. The lack of awareness of certain occupational risks, the absence of risk assessment and appropriate prevention measures, and the lack of training for workers, all too often observed, can be at the root of these tragedies.
This is why it is up to us to deploy, over the long term, a policy of prevention of accidents at work which strengthens the culture of prevention in companies, by making companies responsible and supporting them, and which targets the most serious professional risks.
A dedicated site to inform and act on serious and fatal accidents at work
The site www.securiteautravail.gouv.fr will be at the heart of the campaign, offering a wealth of practical information: prevention guides by sector, job descriptions, advice on implementing safety measures, as well as resources for responding in the event of a workplace accident. This site has been designed to support both employers and employees in improving safety at work.
