The Minister of Housing believes that it is necessary to modify the rules applicable to MaPrimeRénov' following its suspension

Interviewed by France Inter, Ms. Létard said she was considering a way to "pace the consumption of the (budgetary, editor's note) envelope as the year progresses" to avoid the system becoming clogged and having to shut down in the event of overheating.

The minister wants to avoid "these massive surges" in application submissions, "then a drop-off because we stop" the system. She wants "work to be carried out jointly with government departments and local authorities" to avoid exceeding the budgetary allocation set at the beginning of the year.

"We want to rely on a mechanism that is much more predictable, much more shared, without cutting back on resources and for the benefit of users and businesses to avoid this stop-and-go," explained Ms. Létard, who will "work again with the sector, that is to say with businesses and parliamentarians."

She specified that the system would be suspended "by July 1" and plans to restart it at the start of the school year in September.

Faced with a tripled number of applications for comprehensive energy renovations in the first quarter, the processing time for applications "has increased from 70 to 100 days," said the former senator, who considers that the system is "overheating."
