The MaPrimeRénov' online portal will reopen on Monday, according to the Ministry of Housing.

For Marc Sanchez, Secretary General of the SDI: “Energy renovation is a policy for the future. But it cannot weaken the companies that implement it. Stability, simplicity, and visibility are the conditions for success.” Since the beginning of the year, the MaPrimeRénov' scheme, as well as all the aid distributed by the National Housing Agency (Anah), had been suspended due to the lack of an adopted budget.

"The final adoption of the 2026 budget will allow us to resume processing the files that have been pending since the end of 2025," and to start submitting new files again, the ministry announced.

Minister Vincent Jeanbrun's office points out, however, that the suspension of the scheme and the accumulated delays in the payment of aid "have nevertheless had the impact of lengthening the average response times, currently more than six months for large-scale renovations, and three months for renovations consisting of a single work step".

Regarding comprehensive energy renovation projects, it is also noted that "a personalized appointment with a France Rénov' advisor is now mandatory before submitting an application for assistance".

As a reminder, MaPrimeRénov', dedicated to major renovations, had already been suspended during the summer of 2025 due to a large influx of applications and attempted fraud. The application process only reopened in September, solely for very low-income households and according to a reduced aid scale.

From Monday, all households will again be able to apply for a MaPrimeRénov' grant, with the same rates as those announced in mid-2025.

For 2026, the budget allocated to the scheme amounts to 3,6 billion euros of state funding, supplemented by 500 million euros from energy savings certificates (CEE), financed by energy suppliers.

This year, the French National Housing Agency (Anah) plans to support 150.000 isolated renovations (such as boiler or window replacements) and 120.000 comprehensive renovations, including 68.000 in apartment buildings and 52.000 in single-family homes. However, these targets are already reduced by the 83.000 applications that were still pending at the end of 2025.

For the Union of Independent Workers and Very Small Businesses (SDI), "recovery will not be enough without stability and simplification"

Following the resumption of the MaPrimeRénov' scheme, the SDI (Union of Independents and Very Small Businesses) is warning about the concrete consequences of suspensions and administrative delays for very small construction companies.

While the reopening of the ticket office is a positive sign for business, it does not resolve the structural difficulties encountered in recent months on the ground.

Tens of thousands of pending cases

At the time of the budget suspension, estimates indicated a backlog of between 80.000 and 83.000 files awaiting processing when the window reopened.

These delays have caused postponed construction projects, blocked quotes and a wait-and-see attitude among households, directly impacting the activity of craft businesses.

A direct impact on the cash flow of very small businesses

In practice, tradespeople assist their clients with the administrative paperwork. When processing is delayed or payment is postponed, companies must either postpone the work or advance the costs.

For a very small business, a few months' delay represents an immediate strain on cash flow, in a context already marked by rising expenses, insurance and the cost of credit.

Persistent administrative complexity

Many contractors believe that administrative procedures slow down the start of projects. A majority of them directly assist their clients with these formalities, taking up non-billable time.

The craftsman becomes an administrative manager instead of focusing on his core business.

The position of the SDI

The SDI calls for:

• A stable, multi-year program for the system.
• Significantly shorter processing times.
• A real and lasting simplification of the administrative process.
