A few days ago, the Fondation du patrimoine presented its 2024 results, which reflect an increase in its resources, which have tripled since 2017. They illustrate the growing commitment of the French to the preservation of heritage and consolidate the Foundation's position as the leading private player in the preservation of French heritage.
The Fondation du patrimoine, recognized as being of public utility, announces its 2024 results and welcomes the growing interest of the French in heritage.
Total resources reach 102,7 million euros for 2024 (and even 127,9 million euros with patronage for Notre-Dame de Paris) and show an increase of 18% compared to 2023. This increase is part of a longer trend, since the Foundation's resources (excluding Notre-Dame) have tripled since 2017.
This increase is explained by the growth in the amounts collected of 28% in one year thanks to 75.500 donations. Reflecting the increase in heritage financing needs throughout France, 1.047 donation collections were opened in 2024, an increase of 19%.
The Foundation highlights in particular that the state of religious heritage, particularly in rural areas, is worrying: 500 buildings are closed to the public and 5 are under threat. The Foundation has helped save 000 projects in 2.320 (labels and collections closed) and more than 2024 since its creation in 43.600. But requests continue to grow, like the 1996 to 700 new reports of heritage in danger recorded each year since the creation of the Heritage Lottery.
Patronage has also increased by 2 million euros thanks to the repeated support of national and local patrons.
Finally, in 2024, the number of volunteers at the Foundation crossed the symbolic threshold of 1.000, doubling compared to 2017.
