The takeover of 100% of EDF by the State, completed in June 2023 at a total cost of €9,7 billion, is the largest operation carried out by the State Shareholding Agency (APE) since its creation in 2004. It took place in a context of energy crisis, operational and financial difficulties at EDF and the revival of the nuclear sector.
