CAPEB and the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine join forces to promote heritage

At the International Cultural Heritage Fair, the unmissable event for heritage professionals located at the Carrousel du Louvre, the CAPEB (Confederation of Crafts and Small Building Enterprises) and the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine signed a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation between building craftsmen and architecture professionals in the preservation and enhancement of built heritage.

A partnership in service of living heritage

This agreement reflects a shared ambition: to recognize and value the essential role of craftsmen in the conservation, restoration and evolution of buildings, whether or not they are classified as historical monuments.

As true guardians of expertise, craftspeople are at the heart of French architectural and heritage quality. CAPEB and the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine (City of Architecture and Heritage) aim to strengthen the links between manual trades and design, in order to better address the contemporary challenges of historic buildings, particularly in terms of energy renovation, skills transfer, and sustainable development.

Concrete and shared actions

The agreement outlines several areas of cooperation:

Promoting trades and know-how: participation of artisans in the City's exhibitions through contributions of expertise, educational devices and workshops;
Organisation of joint events: series of conferences and meetings dedicated to heritage professions and their role in cultural transmission;
Training and transmission: development of training modules by the École de Chaillot and sharing of experiences between architects and craftsmen in the territories;
Support for the City's projects: involvement of networks of craft businesses and possible mobilization of sponsorship, including skills-based sponsorship.
