New IP66 Cleanroom Panel: Sylvania Pushes the Performance of its LiteGuard Range Dedicated to Demanding Environments

In sectors such as the food processing and semiconductor industries, it is crucial that products and processes remain uncontaminated. While people working in these environments are the primary source of particle emissions, the same is true for the equipment within them, including lighting fixtures.

A recognized lighting specialist, Sylvania unveils its latest innovation. Following the IP65 Panel launched in 2023 to meet the stringent requirements of numerous specific applications, Sylvania goes even further and launches the IP66 Cleanroom Panel compliant with the ISO 14644-1:2025 standard, relating to the cleanliness of cleanroom air.

A maximum level of protection to prevent any contamination

Specifically designed to meet the needs of cleanrooms in all sectors, the Sylvania Panel IP66 luminaire brings together all the ingredients to meet the criteria of the ISO 14644-1 standard, which specifies the classification of air cleanliness in cleanrooms, in terms of the concentration of particles suspended in the air.

Certified compliant with class 2-9, which means a maximum number of permitted particles ≥ 0,5 μm per m₃ of air, it possesses:

rounded edges that eliminate any proliferation of sediment and bacteria,
A screwless design for easy cleaning.
high protection (IP66) on its front and IP50 on the back,
tempered safety glass that maintains its watertight seal and provides excellent resistance to mechanical impacts (IK08),
a wide operating temperature range (from -20° to +60°C) which allows it to cover a large number of applications, including in extreme temperatures, with the same reliability.

All these elements, with a luminous efficacy of up to 107lm/W and a long lifespan (from 70.000 to 100.000 hours), make it perfectly suited to all types of cleanrooms.

Great installation flexibility

Available in two sizes (600×600, 1200×1200 mm), the IP66 Panel is supplied with a Pull-Up kit which makes it possible to install it on all types of ceilings:

in standard mounting with a metal ceiling fixing
on plaster ceiling or in a recessed version for discreet and aesthetic integration.

The visual comfort so dear to Sylvania

Just like the Panel IP65, the new Panel IP66 luminaire features a micro-prismatic diffuser which considerably reduces glare (UGR<19), a significant criterion in these places where the slightest discomfort caused by light can have consequences.

With an SDCM <3, it is available in neutral white (4000K), the most commonly used color temperature in this type of establishment, and with a CRI >90, guaranteeing excellent color rendering. Available in ON/OFF or DALI Push versions, it helps reduce energy consumption.

Brought together under the LiteGuard range, which will be expanded over time, Sylvania's IP65 and IP66 Panels provide ideal lighting conditions for these enclosed spaces where environmental conditions are strictly controlled to prevent or reduce contamination of sensitive products or materials.
