Siniat and Veolia strengthen their commitment to gypsum recycling

A strategic partnership for the circular economy

After more than a decade of cooperation on a regional scale, Siniat and Veolia have decided to expand their collaboration to optimize the recovery of plaster waste.

On December 4, 2024, in Avignon, the two companies signed a structuring national contract. This contract provides for an increase in Veolia's production of recycled gypsum, while Siniat commits to adapting its industrial processes to further integrate this secondary raw material into its manufacturing.

A stated ambition for more responsible construction

The objective of this partnership is to integrate up to 30% recycled gypsum into all plasterboard produced by Siniat by 2030. This initiative is fully in line with a global strategy aimed at reducing the environmental impact of construction materials and promoting the circular economy.

Concrete actions already in place

The partnership began in 2024 with the recovery of plaster waste at the Veolia unit in Rennes, which has a processing capacity of 15 tonnes per year, intended for the Siniat plant in Auneuil.

In 2025, Veolia will commission a new recycling plant in La Seyne-sur-Mer. With a capacity of 25 tonnes, it will supply recycled gypsum to the Siniat plant in Carpentras. This plant will thus contribute to the preservation of natural resources and the reduction of quarry extraction.

Through this strengthened collaboration, Siniat and Veolia confirm their commitment to accelerating the transition to sustainable construction.
