Séverine Vernet confirmed as head of the Higher Council of the Order of Chartered Surveyors

Interim President since March 2024, and the first woman to hold this position for a long time, Séverine Vernet continues her commitment at the helm of the Order with the renewed support of all her peers. She embodies modern and committed leadership, reflecting the new generations of planning professionals.

She revealed the three strategic axes which will structure her action:

• Reform the governance of the Order and adopt a new strategic plan, more agile, more inclusive and resolutely focused on taking into account environmental and societal issues.
• Deploy compliance operationally and reveal an ambitious raison d'être for the profession and for the Order, on the occasion of the Ordinary Meetings, a new unifying event designed to bring together regional and national elected representatives of the profession around strategic workshops.
• Strengthen the expertise of chartered surveyors in the face of climatic, environmental, economic, digital and societal challenges, in order to amplify their role in the creation of territories.

This new mandate is part of a long-term ambition: to prepare the profession to meet the challenges of the next decade.

The Order will also strive to strengthen its partnerships with local authorities and public stakeholders, as recently by partnering with the DGALN to launch its qualifying training program on land sobriety, so that all areas can benefit from the profession's expertise.

The President also welcomed the new members of the Higher Council, thanking each for their commitment to serving the profession. Composed of four elected members and the Presidents of the 4 Regional Councils, the Higher Council was partially renewed following the Territorial General Assemblies held between March and May. One-third of the regional councils saw their presidencies renewed.

In parallel with this confirmation, the High Council proceeded with the election of its office:

Biography of Séverine Vernet, President of the Higher Council of the OGE

Graduated in engineering from the École Supérieure des Géoomètres et Topographies d'Évry (91) in 1996, Séverine Vernet then joined a firm in Val d'Oise to complete her final internship. In 2000, she registered with the Order of Surveyors to practice within the Bonnier Vernet Floch firm.

Séverine Vernet is also an expert witness at the Versailles Court of Appeal. Keen to dedicate herself to serving her profession, she served as President of the Regional Council of the Order of Chartered Surveyors of Ile-de-France from 2013 to 2017 and was elected Vice-President of the High Council in 2015. She became First Vice-President in June 2021 before being re-elected on June 15, 2023. She will serve as interim head of the body between March 2024 and June 2025.
